El Caminito del Rey is the most spectacular natural site and one of the most visited in the world. This is a canyon carved by the Guadalhorce river in limestone and dolomite in the gorges known as the Gaitanes and the Gaitanejo that runs along hanging walkways that are 100 meters high, at some point 10 meters wide and 400 meters deep along 7 km, as well as vertical walls, make this an unforgettable experience. The start of the trip is in the municipality of Ardales and we will finish in the Chorro district of Álora.

It was built at the beginning of the 20th century, as a service road to connect the two waterfalls that are nearby (Salto del Gaitanejo and Salto del Chorro), facilitating its maintenance and transport materials.

It was not until 1921 when the inauguration and completion of the construction of the Chorro dam took place. This date was very important due to the presence of King Alfonso XIII on this day. In addition, it passed through the service road, giving rise to people in the area starting to call this road "Caminito del Rey" (The King's Little Path).

We will go to the Gorge of the Gaitanejo Valley of the Hole with bird watching and Gorge of the Gaitanes, former house of the Engineer Benjumea, Virgin Hermitage of the Medal and town of the former operators of the dam.
